Best Time for a Maternity Shoot

Women often ask me when the best time for their maternity photo shoot is. The answer? It really depends, and you may not guess on what. See, pregnancies take a different shape in a lot of women, and one major factor is height. Shorter women, like myself, tend to grow out more. While taller women don't have such a protruding belly so early. I'm 5'3", and the best time for someone like me to do a maternity shoot is probably at about 28 weeks. I'd say for shorter women, the range is 28-32 weeks. For taller women, aim for between 32 and 36 weeks. And if you're an average height, somewhere in the middle.

You also want to be comfortable and still fairly flexible for your shoot. I never push a pregnant client physically, but I love shots outside in the grass, and there comes a point in pregnancy when it's hard to get yourself all the way down to the ground! I'm almost there. :)

If you ever have any questions or need some advice, I'm always happy to chat. Have a happy pregnancy!
